Severine Devailly

August 19th, 2010 | no comments »

Severine from Nairobi send us a sneak peak from her new collections Bakitabu and Matuu.

“Severine Devailly’s garments are ethically produced, which means they have been produced with respect for people, such as reasonable work hours, no child labour , a fair living wage… This also means encouraging crafting and artisans by creating products that have been crafted using artisan skills, which preserve the perpetuation of tradition.

Her designs are “Euro-Afro” because of the ethical material  “shiny kikoi” from Kenya used with fresh and funky ideas.  Each of her designs are also named by different streets, areas or road of Kenya.”

Italian by Nature – Dunhill, Ackermann

August 17th, 2010 | 1 comment »

Just for a quick check. This winter men have to love italian style in their outfits. Yes, not so bad thing as far as I’m concerned or what do you think? Just a glimpse; above is the Dunhill’s new collection for A/W 2010 by Kim Jones. Very classical and very italian by nature. Trousers very narrow and up tight and same for the jackets.

And just to address the point same goes for the next summer as seen it in the Pitti Uomo’s 2011 trade-show in Florence below by Haider Ackermann. Maybe even more italian. And maybe not so bad thing either…

One of the leading Dutch fashion designers Alexander van Slobbe has a very unique touch in his works. Orson + Bodil has a new collection with Bureau Europa with extreme minimalism and a touch of a grey and slender bureaucracy.  Provocativeness is always welcome when made with thought and a classy touch.
