Georgia Hardinge

January 15th, 2012 | no comments »

I like very much the dresses this talented young designer is offering for this summer.

“Born in London and raised across Europe, Georgia Hardinge’s international background is interpreted throughout her work drawing on eclectic cultural references. Georgia’s style of moulding design techniques in order to create an art piece with everlasting purpose is the keystone throughout her collections holding firm in the belief that “the highest approach of art awareness is through fashion”.  SS11 saw Georgia’s first catwalk show at London Fashion Week”

Susan Bijl Maria Jobse

December 1st, 2011 | no comments »

Some nice ideas these two talented ladies have: “SUSAN BIJL MARIA JOBSE is a collaboration between Susan Bijl and fashion creator Maria Jobse. Due to their different backgrounds in the fashion and design profession both complement each other in a special way. Susan as a product designer, were product development and practical application are important, Maria from fashion by developing interesting products from a shape and pattern. Both have a strong sense of color, style, detail and form. Our style has sober and straight characteristics. The crafts way of developing and manufacturing is also found in high fashion, and it makes the products distinctive and unique.”

10 Crosby by Derek Lam

November 21st, 2011 | 1 comment »

The new collection by Derek Lam makes a some sort of “I don’t know” -feeling in you. Like you dig it alright but it feels like somethings still missing. But is it just me or are the choises used by Lam a little bit too safe and obvious to shake the line? The 10 Crosby has his muse Hanne Gaby Odiele in frontline for the spring collection.

Coupé-Cousu

November 2nd, 2011 | no comments »

Seems like Coupé-Cousu have changed their controversial style a bit. I don’t know what kind of ‘new strict bohemian revival’ is this but strangely appealing stuff thought.

“Coupé-cousu was founded in 2008 with one goal in mind: to design real clothes for the urbanite constantly on the move. With no formal training in fashion design and little more than pure heart and love for menswear, Xie Shangqian & Alex Yeo began creating their first shirts. Their fascination with traditional tailoring and appreciation of something laboriously handmade cemented the label’s approach to fashion – design built upon the foundation of classic craftsmanship.”
