Rosie Hogan

October 8th, 2007

Rosie Hogan’s collection was the most unexpected addition to an otherwise typical New York City Fashion Week. The Australian was one of only 10 talents selected worldwide to show at the Nolcha Fashion Week Parade… Her collection themed “Beyond the Pale”, a sophisticated twist of high couture and young RTW; attracted attention when it was sourced from thousands of international entries to be commissioned by the Nolcha Metier Group. Directors were so impressed they invited the teenager to be the sole designer to return for London Fashion Week, next Autumn/Winter season.
The eccentricity of this couturier was obvious to many, as soon as her first face appeared on stage. Unusual fabrics glowing in metallic, white and yellow hues, as well as double-boning borrowed from 18th Century couture; completed a look judges could not believe was created by a girl too young even to enjoy the champagne backstage… You can actually contact the designer herself when you visit: www.myspace.com/rosiehogan

May I just point out that I am the true creator of these garments, not Miss Hogan. If it had not been for me, her vision would never have become reality, and if anybody else had been commissioned to do the work, the end result would have been rather different.

It will be interesting to see just how far she can bluff her way.
