Coupé-Cousu

November 2nd, 2011 | no comments »

Seems like Coupé-Cousu have changed their controversial style a bit. I don’t know what kind of ‘new strict bohemian revival’ is this but strangely appealing stuff thought.

“Coupé-cousu was founded in 2008 with one goal in mind: to design real clothes for the urbanite constantly on the move. With no formal training in fashion design and little more than pure heart and love for menswear, Xie Shangqian & Alex Yeo began creating their first shirts. Their fascination with traditional tailoring and appreciation of something laboriously handmade cemented the label’s approach to fashion – design built upon the foundation of classic craftsmanship.”

Kimma Wreh has been designing ethnic formal wear and bridal gowns for over fifteen years. “I’m approached by more and more brides who want to return to their roots to feel connected to their heritage” explains Kimma. “I began designing ethnic fashions because I received such a warm reception in the US by people complimenting the dresses I had created for myself. I’ve traveled throughout the world from Latin-America to India and in various African countries.  I’ve always been inspired by the craftsmanship of the local artists when traveling back to my country of Liberia. I realized that the hand-made work the people were doing was so well crafted, that I was moved. So, in 1996, I began my business to produce authentic ethnic fashions for brides in the western world.”

Junya Watanabe

“Watanabe’s MAN collection pulls off the feat of being both contemporary and timeless, a tender, lovelorn set displaying a rich appreciation for sartorial heritage. As always with Junya, it’s the parts that make the whole. Ever the enigma, Watanabe insists there is no meaning behind what he does – the clothes are just there, ready to be worn and cherished.”

You just have to highly respect the attitude. Very extraordinary man in fashion industry…

“After spending seven years in Japan immersed in its culture and fashion, founder Craig Atkinson had the vision to create a menswear line that combined the elements of Japanese quality and detail, together with Canadian Heritage.”

Despite of the little bit ‘overwhelmed vintage urbanity’, they truly have some nice urban outfits on the collection for the next summer 2012.

The Bug Backpack

October 9th, 2011 | 1 comment »

Martin from Koox Design sent us mail:  “The Bug Backpack from Koox Design is the perfect knapsack for the fall semester.  This backpack is designed to withstand anything life throws your way with its 3mm thick plastic shell. The Bug Backpack is also customizable, letting you choose from several eye-popping colors. Despite the plastic shell on the back, the Bug Backpack still manages to keep a low profile with its contemporary styling and design.”
